STACKHOUSE NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR MEN’S BASKETBALL

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Lycoming College senior Matt Stackhouse (Hughesville, Pa.; Hughesville) has been named the Freedom Conference Player of the Week for men’s basketball.

Stackhouse asserted himself as one of the top big-men in all of Division III last week with a pair of double-double performances against strong competition. On Monday, Stackhouse led the Warriors to a 79-74 road-victory over Elmira College with 26 points and a career-high 22 rebounds. Two nights later he poured in 21 points and 13 rebounds in a 73-84 loss to Division I Lafayette College – a team that features four players 6’8” or taller, including a seven footer. Stackhouse also recorded six assists and three blocked shots in the two games and recorded his 1,000^th career point in the win over Elmira.
