HUGGLER NAMED FREEDOM CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR MEN’S
BASKETBALL
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – Lycoming College junior L.J. Huggler (St. Mary’s, PA;
St. Marys) has been named the MAC Freedom Conference Player of
the Week.
Huggler led the
Warriors to a 3-0 record last week, including two important
victories over conference opponents. The 6-8 center was
Lycoming’s leading scorer in wins over Drew and FDU-Florham,
recording double-doubles in both games. Versus the Rangers he
scored 25 points while grabbing 12 rebounds. He also tied a school
record for free-throw attempts in the game with 22 – he made 17.
Against the Devils, Huggler tallied 22 points and 10 rebounds,
including a 12-of-13 effort from the free-throw line. For the
week, Huggler averaged 18 points and nine rebounds per game. He
shot 57.1% (12-of-21) from the field and 81.1% (30-of-37) from the
charity stripe.
Through
14 games this season, Huggler is the Warriors’ third-leading
scorer, averaging 15.0 points per game. He also averages 6.6
rebounds per game while shooting 67% from the field and 73% from
the free-throw line. Lycoming, the defending Freedom Conference
champion, is 9-5 overall and 4-0 within the conference so far this
season.
