MEN’S BASKETBALL TRIPPED UP AT SUSQUEHANNA
SELINSGROVE, PA
– The Lycoming College men’s basketball team traveled to
Susquehanna University, Saturday evening for a non-conference
contest. The Warriors played catch-up for most of the game,
holding a lead just once before falling 92-87. Lycoming drops to
6-5 with the loss while the Crusaders improve to 6-6.
Susquehanna hit a
three-pointer to open the game and only trailed once just prior to
halftime. Their advantage grew as large as 10 midway through the
second half, but the Warriors would not go away fighting back to
within one with 16 seconds to play. Chris Zimmerman, however, hit
a pair of free throws to ice the game for the Crusaders.
Matt
Stackhouse (Jr./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville)
led all players with 29 points and 16 rebounds in the contest. Tommy
Wesner (Sr./Dillsburg, PA; Northern) added 19 points for
Lycoming, including a trio of three-pointers. Jonathan Pribble
(Fr./Woolrich, PA; Central Mountain) chipped in 13 markers and
five assists and Shaun Morris (So./Camp Hill, PA; Trinity) tallied
10 points and a team-high six assists.
Susquehanna was
led by Bubba Mills with 22 points, Chris Zimmerman with 19, and
Dan Rathmell with 18. The Crusaders shot 62% from the field in the
second half.
The
Warriors are on the road again on Monday when they travel to
College Misericordia. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. and the game
will be broadcast on WRAK-1400 AM.
