MEN’S BASKETBALL STUMBLES AT KING’S
WILKES-BARRE, PA
– The Lycoming College men’s basketball team traveled to
King’s College, Saturday afternoon, for a key Freedom Conference
match-up. The Warriors led early in the game but the Monarchs took
over the lead by the half and then pulled away in the second
period to secure the 84-73 win. Lycoming falls to 15-7 overall and
8-4 within the conference. King’s improves to 18-5 and 8-4.
The Warriors
jumped out to a six-point lead early in the game, but a 9-0 run by
the Monarchs quickly erased the deficit. King’s went on to build
their lead to six by halftime. They continued to pull away with a
20-8 run to start the second half that gave them an 18-point
advantage. Lycoming clawed their way back to within eight but
could get no closer as the Monarchs claimed the 11-point victory.

led all scorers in the game with 24 points, including six
three-pointers. He also pulled down seven rebounds. Matt
Stackhouse (So./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville) added 17 points
and seven boards. Jason Black (Sr./Duncannon, PA; Susquenita)
chipped in seven points while leading the team with five assists.
The Warriors will host Scranton next Tuesday at
approximately 8 p.m. following the women’s half of the
doubleheader.
