WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL COMES UP SHORT AT BLOOMSBURG

BLOOMSBURG, PA – The Lycoming College men’s basketball team traveled to Division II Bloomsburg University, Tuesday evening, for a non-conference contest. The Warriors battles the Huskies throughout the game, but could not overcome the second half shooting performance of the home team, falling 90-80. Bloomsburg improves to 2-1 with the win. Lycoming drops to 2-1 overall.

The Huskies jumped out to a quick 10-3 lead in the opening minutes of the game, but the Warriors responded, coming back to tie the game and then take a seven-point lead of their own midway through the first half. Lycoming held the advantage for nearly 10 minutes, but Bloomsburg fought back at the end of the period to tie the game at 37-37 heading into halftime.

The two teams battled back and forth in the early part of the second half with the Warriors grabbing a 51-50 lead with 12:41 to play. That lead, however, would be Lycoming’s last as Bloomsburg went on an 18-3 run over the next four minutes to take a lead they would never relinquish.

Tommy Wesner (Sr./Dillsburg, PA; Northern) led all scorers in the game with 21 points, including five three-pointers. Matt Stackhouse (Jr./Hughesville, PA: Hughesville) added 19 points while pulling down a game-high 11 rebounds. L.J. Huggler (Jr./St, Marys, PA; St. Marys) and Brad Musser (Fr./Mifflinburg, PA; Mifflinburg) chipped in 15 and 11 points, respectively. Shaun Morris (So./Camp Hill, PA; Trinity) led the squad with six assists, while scoring seven points.

Jason Benson (Jr./Pittsburgh, PA; Schenley) led the Huskies with 20 points. Adam Bohman (Sr./Sussex, NJ; Vernon Twp.) added 19, and Tom Barlow (Sr./Dresher, PA; Upper Dublin) chipped in 18 markers.

The Warriors play again on Wednesday, December 4, when they travel to Wilkes University for their first conference contest. Tip-off for the men will be at approximately 8 p.m.
