WARRIOR MEN
CAGERS SUFFER CONFERENCE LOSS AT DESALES
WILLIAMSPORT, PA
– The Lycoming College men’s basketball team traveled to
DeSales University, Saturday afternoon, looking to protect their
first-place standing in the MAC Freedom Conference. The Bulldogs
had other plans, however, as they knocked off the visiting
Warriors, 83-76. Lycoming falls to 11-5 overall and 4-2 within the
Freedom with the loss. DeSales improves to 10-4 overall and 3-3
versus conference competition.
The two teams
played even through the first half, but an 18-6 run by the
Bulldogs midway through the second period put the Warriors in a
hole they could not climb out of. Chris Napier (Sr./Port
Jervis, NY; Minisink Valley) led the team in both scoring and
rebounding with 19 points and seven boards. Tommy Wesner
(Jr./Dillsburg, PA; Northern) chipped in 18 points, including
four three-pointers. Matt Stackhouse (So./Hughesville, PA;
Hughesville) added 15 points from inside, while pulling down
six rebounds. Jason Black (Sr./Duncannon, PA; Susquenita)
led the Warriors with six assists.
Lycoming travels
to the University of Scranton on Wednesday night for an important
conference showdown with the Royals. Entering today’s action
Scranton was tied with the Warriors for first place in the
Freedom.
