LYCOMING'S
STACKHOUSE NAMED MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK
WILLIAMSPORT,
PA – Lycoming College sophomore Matt Stackhouse (Hughesville,
PA; Hughesville) has been named the Middle Atlantic Freedom
Conference Player of the Week for men’s basketball.
Last week,
Stackhouse continued to turn in a stellar sophomore campaign with
two big performances in important conference contests. On
Wednesday versus Drew, he led all players with 26 points and 14
rebounds in the Warriors’ 28-point victory. On Saturday at
King’s, he scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and blocked
six shots in an 11-point loss to the Monarchs.
For the season,
Stackhouse is averaging 12.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. He
also has blocked a team-high 40 shots. His 58.8% shooting from the
field ranks second in the conference and his 71.4% shooting from
the free-throw line ranks 8th.
Lycoming
is currently tied for second place in the Freedom with King’s
College with a conference record of 8-4. Both teams are one game
behind Scranton at 9-3. With two games remaining, the Warriors
need one win or a loss by either Wilkes or DeSales to wrap up a
playoff spot. Lycoming hosts Scranton tomorrow evening at 8 p.m.
and DeSales on Saturday at 3 p.m.
