WARRIOR MEN’S BASKETBALL
DROPS SECOND CONSECUTIVE CONTEST
ARLINGTON, VA –
The Lycoming College men’s basketball team took on Marymount
University, Wednesday evening in their final game of 2001. The
Warriors suffered their second consecutive defeat, falling to the
Saints 76-61. Lycoming drops to 8-3 on the season with the loss.
Marymount improves to 7-3.
Playing their
fourth game in six days, the Warriors found themselves down four
points at halftime 32-28. The Saints made sure Lycoming could not
come back by shooting 63% from the field in the second half to
extend the margin of victory to 15.
Chris Napier
(Sr./Port Jervis, NY; Minisink Valley)
and Curtis Mays (Fr./Philadelphia, PA; University City) led
the team in scoring, each recording 16 markers. Mays added five
rebounds. Matt Stackhouse (So./Hughesville, PA; Hughesville)
led the Warriors in rebounding with nine boards while scoring six
points. Jason Black (Sr./Duncannon, PA; Susquenita) tallied
five assists in the game.
Lycoming
is now off until Jan. 7, when they will travel to Elmira College.
After opening the year with six straight home games, the Warriors
are five games into a seven-game road trip. Thus far the team is
3-2 away from their home gym.
