DEASEY NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK;
RUPPRECHT MAKES HONOR ROLL

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Tim Deasey (Sr./Norwood, PA; Interboro) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last Saturday versus Susquehanna. The senior tailback rushed for 146 yards on 25 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Warriors to a 45-20 win over their closest rival. Deasey also added a reception for a two-point conversion.

Deasey’s effort against Susquehanna came just one week after he broke Lycoming’s single-game rushing record with 253 yards on 34 carries versus Lebanon Valley. He now holds both the single-game and single-season rushing records for the Warriors; and with 2,020 career yards, Deasey needs just 525 more yards to overtake Brian Thompson for Lycoming’s career mark.

The conference also recognized Ryan Rupprecht (Sr./Southampton, PA; Archbishop Wood) for his performance at Susquehanna, naming him to the weekly honor roll. Rupprecht led the Warriors with 10 tackles on Saturday, including two sacks. He also recovered a fumble midway through the fourth quarter and returned in 39 yards for a touchdown, ending any hopes Susquehanna had for a comeback. Rupprecht, a preseason All-American, now leads his team with 17 tackles in two games, including six tackles for losses of yardage.

As a team, Lycoming is off to a fast start at 2-0 overall and within the MAC. The Warriors defeated Lebanon Valley in week one, 40-0; and followed that up with a 45-20 victory over Susquehanna. In the first coaches’ poll released this season, Lycoming was ranked 21st in the nation.
