DEASEY NAMED MAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College senior tailback Tim Deasey (Norwood, PA; Interboro) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his performance versus Juniata College last Saturday.

Deasey led the Warriors to a 42-14 victory rushing for 242 yards on 39 carries and scoring a school-record five touchdowns. His 39 attempts tied another Lycoming record. Deasey now holds Warrior records for single-game rushing (253 yards), carries in a game (39), touchdowns in a game (5), single-season rushing (1,247), and career yardage (2,868).

The fleet footed running back finished the 2001 season as the MAC’s leading rushing averaging 138.6 yards per game. All told in nine games, Deasey gained 1,247 yards on 234 carries and scored 13 rushing touchdowns. He also caught 10 passes for 96 yards and one score.

Deasey’s efforts on the ground helped lead Lycoming to their 27^th consecutive winning campaign with a mark of 8-1.
