Lycoming
Announces 2007 Football Recruiting Class
Coaches Excited About
an Athletic Class
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa.—The Lycoming Warrior football team rounded out its 2007
recruiting class with 43 commitments, including three local
players. The coaching staff is excited about the overall
athleticism and talent of the incoming players.
Montoursville
linebacker Zack Hanner is one local standout committed to
the Warriors. At 6’, 210 pounds, he will likely continue at
linebacker in college.
Lycoming head
coach Frank Girardi describes Hanner as “an athletic and
physical player. He had a heck of a career at Montoursville. He
runs well and he’s used to being in big games because of his
playoff experience.”
Levi Overdorff,
of Williamsport Area High School, also comes to Lycoming as a
linebacker.
“He has good
speed,” says Girardi. “We see him as an outside linebacker or
possibly a safety.”
Finally,
Adam Paulhamus completes the local contingent as a wide
receiver prospect from Warrior Run High School.
Girardi
welcomes Paulhamus after “a solid year for Warrior Run.”
The quality of
Lycoming’s entire recruiting class has insiders excited about
the team’s immediate future. Several players could make an
impact early or at least provide excellent depth.
Running back
Josh Kleinfelter of Bellwood-Antis finished his high school
career ranked 18th on the all-time Pennsylvania
rushing list with 5,940 rushing yards. Honesdale running back
Ben Rosa is another highly touted player from the Scranton
area.
Central Dauphin
quarterback Tim Hook completed 68% of his passes last
year and is equally dangerous on the ground. Meanwhile,
Carbondale’s Andrew Torch could become a regular
receiving target or a stifling cornerback.
Girardi
says, “We’re very pleased with this recruiting class. It’s one
of our most athletic groups. I’m looking forward to seeing these
freshmen in camp.”
