Fifth Annual
Lineman's Challenge a Success
Two Squads from
Mifflinburg, Hughesville Claim Top Honors
WILLIAMSPORT,
Pa. --- In what has become one of the most popular high school
football events in the area, the Fifth Annual Warrior Lineman’s
Challenge was once again a resounding success. Hosted by
Deman’s Sporting Goods and Lycoming College, The Challenge
welcomed more than 30 teams from high schools in both local
areas and from around the state to David Person Field to compete
in a series of strength, power, and agility events.
A pair of
squads from Mifflinburg High School, separated by only one
point, out-paced the rest of the competitors for first and
second place (31 and 30 points, respectively). Hughesville High
School rounded out the top three with 22 total points.
The teams took
part in nine events throughout the day including an obstacle
course, seven-man and one-man sled pushes, tug-of-war, shuttle
run, bench press, arm wrestling, push ups, and a tire toss. The
results are listed below.
