LYCOMING COLLEGE TO OFFER
STREAMING AUDIO OF WARRIOR FOOTBALL IN 2005
WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Radio
broadcasts of all 10
Lycoming College football games will be available live over the
internet for the 2005 season allowing alumni, parents, and fans
from around the world to tune into Warrior football games.
The webcasts will be available on Lycoming’s athletic website at
www.lycoming.edu/sports (via MSA Sports Network –
www.msasportsnetwork.com ).
The action heard over the internet will be a simulcast of the
WRAK-1400/WRKK-1200 AM broadcast by the veteran crew of Ken
Sawyer and Bill Byham who have been covering the Warriors
together since the 1990 season. Sawyer will handle the
play-by-play and Byham will provide the color commentary.
Sawyer has been the “Voice of the Warriors” for more than a
decade. Each pre-game show will feature a conversation between
Sawyer and Head Coach Frank Girardi, who has mentored the
Lycoming football program into a national powerhouse during his
more than 30 years as head coach.
Byham has been following Warrior football for ages, including
spending five years as the College’s sports information
director. Byham has an intense pride in the Warrior program and
a special feel for the players and coaches with whom he has
developed close relationships.
“We’re excited to provide this opportunity to our fans and
alumni who are unable to attend our games in person,” said
Girardi. “We’re confident that this partnership with the MSA
Sports Network will allow fans to experience Warrior football
like never before. Ken and Bill have provided an outstanding
product to our local area for years and I’m sure those who
listen over the internet will appreciate their description of
the action and unique insights into the Lycoming football
program.”
The Warriors open the season on Saturday, September 10, against
Juniata College at David Person Field in Williamsport. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00
p.m. with the broadcast beginning at 12:50 p.m. For a complete schedule of
games and broadcasts visit the Lycoming athletic website and
