ITHACA, N.Y. – The Lycoming College football team traveled to Ithaca College, Saturday afternoon, for their first non-conference game since 1992. The Warriors struggled defensively for the second consecutive week and fell to the Bombers 49-7. Lycoming drops to 1-3 overall this season.

Ithaca (3-1) jumped out to a 21-0 lead and displayed a balanced offensive attack all game, scoring three touchdowns on the ground and three through the air. The Bomber defense added a final score on a fumbled snap by the Warrior offense.

Ithaca quarterback Josh Felicetti completed 25-of-34 passes for 431 yards and three touchdowns. Justin Esposito and Jeff Welch each caught six passes. Esposito accounted for 137 yards, while Welch compiled 130 yards and two touchdowns. Alex Baez carried the ball 11 times for a team-high 59 yards.

Lycoming’s lone touchdown came late in the third period when Phil Mann (Sr./Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) hooked up with Ray Withelder (Sr./Aston, Pa.; Sun Valley) from 10 yards out. Chris Schrader (So./Glenolden, Pa.; Monsignor Bonner) added the extra point to make the score 35-7.

Mann finished the game with 129 yards on 14-of-24 passing. Withelder was his favorite target with three catches for 35 yards. Joe Cosmello (So./New Milford, Pa.; Montrose) was the Warriors’ leading rusher with 67 yards on 11 carries.

Defensively, Kevin LeSage (Jr./Darby, Pa.; Monsignor Bonner) led Lycoming with nine tackles, including a sack. He also intercepted a pass.

Dustin Rose led the Bomber defense with 12 tackles, including four behind the line-of-scrimmage.

The Warriors will look to return to the win column on Saturday, October 9, when they host FDU-Florham as part of the College’s Family Weekend activities.
