LYCOMING’S KASPICK NAMED MAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College junior Brian Kaspick (Clearfield, Pa.; Clearfield) has been named the defensive player of the week for the Middle Atlantic Conference following the Warriors’ 38-0 shutout of Susquehanna University last Saturday.

Kaspick led a Lycoming defense that forced seven turnovers and held the MAC’s second leading offense to just 236 total yards. Kaspick recorded a team-high seven tackles and intercepted two passes for the Warriors. For the season, he has 36 tackles, four interceptions, and seven passes defended.

Junior quarterback Phil Mann (Mill Hall, Pa.; Central Mountain) was also named to the MAC’s weekly honor roll after leading the offense by completing 13-of-18 passes for 215 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball seven times for 47 yards and another two scores.

Lycoming at 8-1 overall is the 2003 Middle Atlantic Conference champion and has earned the number-one seed in the south region for the NCAA Division III national playoffs. The top seed receives a bye in the first round, so the Warriors will play again on Saturday, November 29, when they will host the winner of Trinity (Texas) versus East Texas Baptist.
