LYCOMING’S HENRICH NAMED MAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – Lycoming College senior defensive back Matt Henrich (Huntingdon, Pa.; Huntingdon) has been named the Middle Atlantic Conference defensive player of the week for football.

Henrich tied a school record, on Saturday, by intercepting three passes in the Warriors’ 54-0 victory over Delaware Valley College. Led by Henrich, the Lycoming defense forced eight turnovers and held the Aggies to just 60 yards of total offense. He also recorded two tackles and defended a total of four passes in the game.

The shutout was the Warriors’ second consecutive to open a season. Last year they blanked Lebanon Valley 40-0 in the season opener. The team’s most recent shutout came on October 6, 2001 versus FDU-Madison (now FDU-Florham).

Lycoming will travel to Lebanon Valley College this weekend for week two of the young season. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
