LYCOMING DEBUTS AT NO. 9 IN FIRST AFCA COACHES’ POLL OF 2002

WILLIAMSPORT, PA – The American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) released their first top-25 coaches’ poll of the 2002 season. Lycoming College was voted as the 9^th best team in the nation by the panel of 49 coaches.

The Warriors are 2-0 so far this season with wins over Delaware Valley (54-0) and Lebanon Valley (24-6). They will host Susquehanna University this Saturday for their home opener. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. Lycoming was ranked in numerous preseason polls, including 10^th by Sports Illustrated.

Widener University was the only other Middle Atlantic Conference school ranked among the top-25. The Pioneers begin the year at number five in the poll. Juniata College, Wilkes University, and King’s College also received votes in the poll.
