| John was recognized as a sports power during his years at Dickinson Seminary as he participated in football, serving as captain one season, track and basketball. He played on the football team that once defeated Lock Haven Normal 106-0. While employed with IBM, he was the fourth man from the City of Williamsport to join the youth baseball program in 1939. In 1950 he was named Commissioner of Little League Baseball, Inc. and assistant to the president of the organization. He held those positions until his retirement. |
