| Jim
was a standout multi-sport athlete for Lycoming College from 1947
through 1951. He earned a total of seven varsity letters
during his collegiate career, picking up three each for his
contributions to the basketball and tennis teams, and another for
playing on the baseball team. Jim won the Coach's Award as the
Outstanding Player for men's basketball each of his four seasons on
the team. Outside the realm of athletics, Jim was also a very
active member of the campus community, participating in the Zeta Tau
Beta business fraternity, the German club, the varsity club, and the
men's dormitory council. He even took up theater his senior
year with a supporting actor role in the 1951 senior class play,
"The Good Old Days". Jim retired in 1983 after 26
years of service around the country as a Division Manager for Bell
South Corporation. He also served in the Korean War as a
Lieutenant Junior Grade in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1956.
