A variety of policies exist at Lycoming to protect individuals and property and we believe that each policy has a valid rationale. As a Lycoming student, you are responsible for abiding by all College policies.
- The Code of Student Conduct. These policies apply to all students, commuter and resident, in all areas of the campus (i.e. outside, residence halls, college apartments, offices and classrooms) and under some circumstances, off campus. This includes all alcohol related policies. Following an examination of the circumstances, violations are addressed through the College disciplinary process.
- Residence Hall Policies. These policies and procedures apply to all residents and their guests and address expectations for behavior in campus housing. Violations of these policies will be addressed through the disciplinary process.
- Room Regulations. These regulations cover safety issues that affect people and College and personal property. Violations of these policies will be addressed administratively, and not through the disciplinary process. Repeated infractions will be treated as a violation of the Failure to Comply policy and will then be addressed through the disciplinary process.
- Residency and Meal Plan Policy. As a residential college all students are required to live in college housing and participate in the college board plan all four years unless otherwise approved by the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs..
- Loft Policy.
The College does not provide or assemble loft units in student rooms. has developed a policy for students who wish to personalize their rooms through a student constructed loft. Students assume full responsibility for verifying the condition of their lofts on a regular basis.
- Special Housing Accomodation Request Procedure.
Occasionally resident students have a need for special accommodations in their housing because of a medical condition. These procedures outline how to make a request for an accommodation.
Filing an Incident Report
The Residential Life Office expects all students to participate in the maintenance of positive learning communities in our halls. At times, this may include confronting others about their behavior. Student staff are available to assist residents with this process and may confront students themselves. However, it is the responsibility of community members to help enforce College, Residential Life, and community standards/policies.
It is sometimes necessary to document the specific behavior that interferes with your living and learning environment. For this reason, all residents are encouraged and expected to confront and document these situations. Incident Report forms are available from any Residential Life staff member. Completed reports should be returned to the Residence Life Office.
Questions about any policy or aspect of the disciplinary process can be directed to the Residential Life Office or the Office of the Dean of Student Affairs.. |
