HOUSING LOTTERY FOR 2008-2009

IMPORTANT NOTES:

As of 3/27/08, the Housing Lottery for 2008-2009 is complete.  If you were unable to participate, are returning for fall 2008,  and do not yet have a room selected, please see the Housing Coordinator in the Residential Life Office ASAP to be placed on the fall 2008 Housing Waiting List. Spaces become available over the summer.  All students will receive assignments before returning to campus in August.

Again, a reminder - NO ROOM CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE LOTTERY.

LOTTERY OVERVIEW

Each spring the Office of Residential Life conducts a Housing Lottery to allow returning residential students to select their housing for the coming Academic Year.

Students wishing to obtain housing must follow all of the steps listed in the section below entitled "Follow These Steps to Participate in the Lottery".

Room selection is determined by lottery number. Lottery numbers are assigned randomly by a computer program and are grouped according to the number of credit hours earned at the end of the previous fall semester (fall 2007).Students with the lowest lottery number have priority for placement. Students with the lowest number can "pull" in other roommates (see exceptions below). Returning upperclass students may also opt for Continuous Occupancy - keep their same room next year (see details below).

All students wishing to select a room should be present during the appropriate lottery and have the necessary number of roommate(s) to fill the room.  If a student cannot be present, the roommate(s) must bring a completed Proxy Form (see Quick Links below) for the absent student(s).

IMPORTANT NOTES

Typically, the number of students exceeds the number of rooms available during the lottery. Don't panic if this happens! Spaces become available over the summer.  All students will receive assignments before returning to campus in August. If you did not participate in a lottery, please contact the Residential Life Office and your name will be added to a waiting list. Beginning July 15th, you should check Web-Advisor on a regular basis to view your fall room assignment information.

Housing rates for the 2008-2009 Academic Year will be announced in the near future by the Treasurer's Office.  For current rates and other fees see the Treasurer's Office web page.

Make certain your enrollment deposit of $100 is paid to the Business Office and your student account is clear of all holds by Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

If you do not pay your enrollment deposit by the deadline, you will not be guaranteed a computer generated lottery number.
If you pay your enrollment deposit after March 4th, regardless of your class standing (i.e. number of credits completed), your number may be manually assigned at the end of the computer generated list (i.e. after the freshmen.)  Failure to pay the enrollment deposit prohibits participation in the lottery.
  • 2: Complete the Housing Agreement on-line through Web-Advisor.
It must be completed a minimum of 24 hours before the lottery you wish to attend.

These forms can be found below along with descriptions of the various room options. It is very importnat to follow all instructions and submit before all appropriate deadlines.
