Loft Registration Procedure

You DO have to register your loft with the Residential Life Office if:

You have a loft that was purchased used, is home-made or custom-built.

You DO NOT have to register your loft with Residential Life Office if:

You purchased it as a kit from a home improvement store (eg. Lowe's, Home Depot)

If you are having someone construct a loft for you, it must meet the Student Loft Constructed Guidelines and be registered for inspection by Residential Life & Buildings and Grounds Staff. Click here to read the Student Constructed Loft Guidelines.

Loft Inspections will occur during the first weeks of classes. Signs will be posted indicating the dates time of inspection; you do not need to be present for the inspection.

You will be informed if your loft requires adjustments.
