Residential Life
"Brick of the Week"

A program to help the College build a "better community."

Faculty, staff, and students may nominate individuals they feel have gone "above and beyond" in their contributions to the College community. Nominees will receive a note stating why they were nominated, and a 1" x 2" brick with "Lycoming College" imprinted on it. The hope is that people who receive the bricks will display them--other people will notice and ask about them, and this will encourage others to do positive things and participate in the program. Eventually, everyone will be going above and beyond because of the fun of it, not just for the brick!

How do you nominate someone?

Complete the on-line form below or e-mail Reslife@lycoming.edu with the required information.

What information is needed?

The nominee's name and campus box number, and the reason for the nomination. It is important that you give as much detail as possible so that the note will make sense to the nominee.

What are the requirements?

The person nominated must have done something above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in their role at Lycoming--not to be confused with a thank you. We want to make sure the bricks are provided to students and staff who are doing something that is not part of their job. For example, faculty presenting residential hall programs or helping with the Thanksgiving dinner; students assisting with an emergency or coordination a floor community activity; staff presenting a special program or helping with a campus crisis.

What happens next?

The nominees will receive a note and brick in the mail. The note will state why they have been nominated, but will not say who nominated them.
