The Religion major consists of an interdisciplinary course load that combines theology, historical literature, cultural and social issues into one program. This study will provide students with the opportunity to concentrate their particular on one religion, time period, or literary work through the following courses:
Old Testament Faith and History, New Testament Faith and History, Introduction to World Religions, After Death and Dying, Judaism and Islam, Asian Religions, Topics in Comparative Religion, The Rise of Islam, and Anthropology of Primitive Religions, Topics in Comparative Religions, History and Culture of the Ancient Near East, Christian Social Ethics, Old Testament Women, Biblical Topics, and The Nature and Mission of the Church.
The remaining coursework can be completed outside the program requirements in areas of Greek, Hebrew, History, Philosophy, and Sociology. The department offers both a Religion and Biblical Languages minor.
