Most Influential Professor: When I came to Lycoming, I wasn’t sure about a major. I became interested in DComm through Leah Peterson. With her encouragement and an occasional nudge DComm became my departmental home. She also led to my involvement with Annual Digital Media Video Festival. The moment I picked up a camera here; I knew this major was for me.
Favorite Part of Class: DComm classes at Lycoming provide the ultimate comfort zone for shooting, whether it’s a camera or video. The small classes give you access to cutting edge equipment, one-on-one attention from the professors, and closer connections to your classmates.
Getting Involved: As a freshman, not only did I have the opportunity to enter a video in the Annual Digital Media Video Festival, but I also won! You never know what getting involved on campus will do for you – getting involved on campus will open doors for you.
Advice: For incoming DComm majors – your impressions of your work will change over time. If your footage didn’t turn out as expected, edit it and edit it again, it might end up being some of your best work.
