Activities at Lycoming: Accounting Society, Alpha Sigma Tau
Hometown: Dushore, Pa.
High School: Sullivan County High School
Most Influential Professor: I connected well with Professor Kuhns during my freshman year. He was very honest and realistic and gave me some great insight on what an accounting major would be like and the work that it would entail.
Favorite Part of Class: I love that class is not strictly a lecture and I love that there are so many resources outside of class that are provided to Lycoming students. Lycoming brings a lot of speakers to campus to help us to gain a better insight of the professional world. I also love accounting labs because they allow us to work outside of the classroom with other accounting majors and help us better understand what we are learning during lectures.
Favorite Campus Club: There is a wide array of clubs and organizations at Lycoming that offer you many opportunities. Specific to my major is the Accounting Society which allows me to connect with professionals in the industry and explore potential job opportunities. There is also my sorority, Alpha Sigma Tau, which connects me to other organizations on campus and in the Williamsport community as well as getting me involved in community service both locally and nationally.
Advice for Students: These are some of the best years of your life and some of the only ones where you will be able to jump head first into some great opportunity, to make great friendships and to try anything that comes your way. Take a wide assortment of classes, get involved and have fun. Use the resources available to you and make the most of your time at Lycoming.
