Hometown: Freeland, Pa.
High School: Hazleton Area High School
Most Influential Professor: Dr. N.J. Stanley is the reason why I chose to come to Lycoming College. She expressed such enthusiasm when talking about the Theatre Department that it made me want to get involved with shows here. Now that I am at Lycoming, Dr. Stanley is not only there to educate me in theatre, but she always has her door opened to talk to me and other students about life in general. She gets to know her students. It’s heartwarming to know that she is not only interested in how each of us does academically, but she genuinely cares about our lives outside of the classroom.
Favorite Part of Class: Classes at Lycoming allow me to feel like I am noticed and not just another face in the room. Being known by my professors is so rewarding, especially coming to college from a big high school with a graduating class of 835 students. At Lycoming, I feel comfortable talking to all my professors.
Favorite Campus Activity: My favorite organization is definitely Alpha Xi Delta. Greek Life gives students not only a feeling of having a family on campus, but so many opportunities for after graduation. It is rewarding to be a part of an organization that allows me to reach out to so many people through community service, raising support and money for our philanthropy, and staying connected with our alumni. Being a sister of Alpha Xi Delta has helped me become a stronger woman and realize my potential as a leader.
Advice for students: Follow your heart. It will help you make the right decisions for you, and everything will find a way of working out.
