Gordon Steenbergen joined the Lycoming faculty in 2016. His primary research interests are the philosophy of science and philosophy of mind. He is particularly interested in the nature of scientific explanation and understanding in the cognitive neurosciences, especially explanatory models of decision making behavior. He is also interested in the nature of models more generally, how models explain, and how they might be implicated in accounts of scientific knowledge.
Steenbergen also enjoys basketball, hiking, and spending time with his wife and three daughters.
