Sara Scott, soprano, is an adjunct voice faculty member at Lycoming College and an active member of the local musical community. Most recently she was a featured soloist in Schubert’s Mass in G with the Bloomsburg University Chamber Orchestra and Jubilate Choir in Bloomsburg, Pa. Scott serves as a cantor and choir member at St. Boniface Church in Williamsport, Pa., and sings with the Hughesville United Methodist Charge Choir in Hughesville, Pa. She is also a member of the Williamsport Chamber Choir, Jubilate Choir and the Williamsport Music Club.
Scott received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Lycoming College in 2012 where she was a member and soloist in the Lycoming College Choir, Lycoming College Chamber Choir and the Lycoming College Tour Choir. During her time at Lycoming, she also had the opportunity to participate in Gilbert and Sullivan's Trial by Jury and was a featured soloist in the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra's Close-Up Concert "Tevye's Ghost." She has also completed advanced studies at Penn State University in the Voice Performance and Pedagogy program and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).
Scott previously taught musical theater classes and voice lessons as an adjunct instructor at the Community Academy of Stage and Theater and has directed summer theater camps at the Community Theater League in Williamsport, Pa. Her on-stage theater experience includes performances in more than fifteen musicals, eleven of which she was cast in lead roles. In addition to her work as a voice professor and soprano soloist, Scott also performs acoustic folk and country music as a singer and songwriter at local venues, coffee shop and area events.
