Dr. Peluso is a native of the Williamsport area. After spending thirteen years in the computer field, she returned to academia to further her education, earning a Masters (1993) and a PhD (1996) in Computer Science at Penn State. She held a visiting position at Bucknell University for a year before joining the faculty at Lycoming College in 1998.
Her background in software engineering and her love for programming continue to influence her interests. Her area of specialty for her PhD was Formal Language and Automata Theory and its application to process modeling, and she continues to review papers in that subdiscipline of Computer Science. Her current scholarship focuses on Computer Science Education in grades K-12 and its relationship to gender issues in the discipline.
