G.W. Hawkes has been at Lycoming for nearly 30 years teaching a variety of English courses.
He has published several novels: Surveyor, Semaphore, and Gambler's Rose. He also has published two books of stories: Spies in the Blue Smoke and Playing out of the Deep Woods. He has published a number of stories in magazines including GQ, The Atlantic, Missouri Review, and Travel & Leisure Golf.
Hawkes is an expert in Victorian naval medals and has published dozens of articles on that subject.
