Mr. Fisher received his Bachelor’s in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania while studying percussion with Gary Olmstead and later received his Masters of Music Education from the Pennsylvania State University. Performing regularly with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra, Billtown Brass, Susquehanna Valley Chorale, Williamsport Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Don also performs as a freelance percussionist in and around the Williamsport area, and for Fred Thayer and the Lycoming College Chamber Choir.
Though Don has taught Applied Percussion, Percussion Methods and Percussion Ensemble at Lycoming College since 2002, he lived in Williamsport since 1996 teaching in the Williamsport Area School District as an Instrumental Music Teacher. He has served as the PMEA District 8 President, on the PMEA State Executive Board, and as a cooperating teacher for Duquesne, Penn State, Susquehanna, and Mansfield Universities. Don has also worked with fellow Lycoming faculty member, Tim Breon, recording and producing recordings for local recording artist, Kristin Fisher.
He and his wife, Kristin, are the leaders of the Contemporary Music Ensemble at St. Boniface church, right next to the college ... and are always looking for new voices ...
