Student Affairs: Director of Outdoor Leadership and Education
As the Director of Outdoor Leadership & Education, Jae Ellison leads the department in all aspects of the program including development, training, and safety and risk management. In addition, he coordinates the Lycoming Outdoor Orientation Program (LOOP) which equips incoming Lycoming students with essential skills to find success during their academic careers.
Ellison earned a bachelor’s degree in outdoor leadership from North Greenville University and a master’s degree of education in outdoor education administration from Georgia College & State University. Jae is a Wilderness EMT and a wilderness medical instructor through SOLO Wilderness Medical School.
Prior to joining Lycoming, Ellison worked in various capacities across the outdoor field including challenge course management, wilderness medicine, and outdoor activity specific skill instruction.
Ellison serves on the board of directors at the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation and on the DCNR PA Trails Advisory Committee as the adviser to water trails across Pennsylvania. Additionally, he contributes to the outdoor education community as an accreditation reviewer for the Association for Experiential Education.
