James McCafferty

After graduating from Lycoming College, James McCafferty worked for three years as a juvenile probation officer with the York County Probation Office in Pennsylvania. He decided to pursue an advanced degree and earned his master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati. He was then accepted into the Criminology Ph.D. program at Cincinnati where he works with noted criminologist Francis Cullen, Ph.D. While earning his Ph.D., Jim is busy research and writing as well as teaching criminal justice courses. He has presented his research at the annual American Sociology of Criminology and looks forward to completing his degree in the near future and beginning an academic career.
