In keeping with the history and tradition of the United Methodist Church, Lycoming College provides a baccalaureate service as a part of the Commencement Weekend.
The service is an ecumenical celebration in honor of the graduating class. The guest speaker is The Rev. Thomas V. Wolfe '78, Dean of Hendricks Chapel, Syracuse University.
The Lycoming College Choir and Band will provide special music. The service is open to the families and friends of the senior class and the general public. No tickets are necessary.

Dean of Hendricks Chapel
Thomas Wolfe is currently serving as the fifth dean of Hendricks Chapel at Syracuse University. He assumed that appointment in January, 1999. Prior to that he served as the Interdenominational Protestant Chaplain at Syracuse University. He has also served United Methodist parishes in Moravia and Ithaca in upstate NY.
Rev. Wolfe is an ordained elder in full connection with North Central New York Conference of the United Methodist Church. He was ordained in 1980. He holds a B.A. degree from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, a Master of Divinity degree from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA, and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Syracuse University. He is interested in developing points of meaningful intersection between people of diverse religious and faith traditions.
Among his civic interests, Rev. Wolfe serves the Syracuse community as the just past president of the board of directors of Interfaith Works (formerly the InterReligious Council of CNY), and past president of the board of directors for Vera House. His Syracuse University service includes being co-chair of the Critical Incident Management Team, member of various advisory committees on diversity, and as a member of the Institutional Review Board for Human Subject Research.
He is married to the Rev. Marilyn N. Wolfe, senior pastor of University United Methodist Church, Syracuse, NY. They have two daughters Erin, a graduate of Syracuse University and Kim, a second year student at Syracuse University. His personal interests include flying and sailing.
