he new Vice President joins a
strong and vibrant senior team
led by President Kent Trachte.
President Trachte became Lycoming’s
15th president on July 1, 2013 and is
leading Lycoming in an inclusive process
of defining its vision for the future. This
future capitalizes on the previous era that
led Lycoming to a position of distinctive
strength and enviable fiscal equilibrium.
As increasing challenges have
threatened the welfare of all of higher
education, Lycoming has practiced
careful and disciplined management of
resources to anticipate these challenges.
As a result, the College faces its future
from a foundation of historical success
and financial stability, and is poised to
“step out” on many fronts.
Since President Trachte’s arrival
on July 1, Lycoming has entered a
new era described by members of the
campus community as one of palpable
excitement, energy and optimism about
the future. A strategic planning process
was launched this fall, plans for new and
improved facilities are underway, and
the College is ready to initiate changes
that will build on its capacities. In short,
Lycoming College offers an uncommon
opportunity for enrollment management
leadership in an established, residential,
liberal arts, undergraduate college of
substantial character and promise.
THE MISSION
The mission of Lycoming
College is to provide a
distinguished baccalaureate
education in the liberal arts
and sciences within a
coeducational and supportive,
residential setting.
President Kent Trachte
