Archaeology professor featured in ABC series

Lycoming College's Dr. William Dever, distinguished visiting professor of archaeology, was a featured scholar in "Back to the Beginning," a two-part series that aired on ABC Dec. 21 and 28. During the series, correspondent Christiane Amanpour retraced some of the stories and mysteries of the Bible as she explored places that are common to Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

Scripture reading contest to be reinstated

Lycoming College, in recognition of its bicentennial celebration, will reinstate a student contest in scripture reading during the College's Family Weekend activities on Saturday, Oct. 1.

College to host an interfaith discussion on religion and water

Lycoming College will host an interfaith panel discussion titled, "The Spiritual Dimension of Water," on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 7 p.m. in the College's Mary L. Welch Honors Hall. Lycoming faculty and spiritual leaders in the community will examine the vital issue of water shortage from many different perspectives.
