Creative Arts Society Constitution

Article I

The name of this organization shall be the Creative Arts Society

Article II

The purpose of this organization shall be the following, but is not solely limited to:

(1) To serve as a meeting place for anyone having an interest in creative arts. This being for, but not limited to the audio, visual, and performing arts

(2) To serve as a link between the students of Lycoming College and the various branches of the arts community

(3) The advancement of the reative arts on the campus of Lycoming College, including, but not limited to education in the arts and humanities

Article III - Membership

Membership in the Creative Arts Society is open to all and any Lycoming College students, regardless of decalred major and/or minor. Providing that the individual remains active through involvement in group projects and planned activities

Article V - Procedure

The meetings and the offices shall be administered according to the parliamentary laws as set forth in "Robert's Rules of Order".

Article VI - General Guidelines
(1) There shall, at all times, remain at least one faculty advisor to the society.
(2) Regular group meetings shall be held to discuss events, activities, and general society administration. There shall at at least two meetings a month, but is not limited to only two meetings a month
(3) The society shall have at all times an executive staff consisting of a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer, elected by the society
(4) Finances of the society shall be administered by the executive staff with the consultation of the entire society
(5) The society as a whole will be responsible for any or all actions that it takes in any form
Article VII - Housing

Housing for the society as long as it is provided by the College shall remain open to any active society member as long as there shall be no conflict of interest with a majority of people already housed in the Creative Arts Society floor. In the event of an excess number of members seeking on floor housing, and there being limited space, new members that are in good academic standing with the college and are mutually agreed upon will live on the floor.

Article VIII - Ratification and Amendments

This constitution is a guideline to our society and can at anytime be amended with the approval of a majority of active society members. As of September 6, 2003 this amendment to the constitution shall be instituted with the consent of all present society members.
