The Lycoming College Campus Activities Board (CAB) has announced that Smash Mouth will headline the fall concert scheduled for Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. in the Keiper Recreation Center on the College’s campus. The opening act will feature Public, a three-man pop band based out of Cincinnati.

Smash Mouth, an American rock band formed in 1994, is best known for several of their hit songs from the 90s such as “Walkin’ On the Sun,” “Then the Morning Comes,” and “All-Star.” The group hit double-platinum with their major-label debut “Fush Yu Mang,” followed by their even bigger second album “Astrolounge,” which produced three Top-10 hits and a Grammy nomination. They have also performed numerous covers of popular songs including “Can’t Get Enough of You Baby” by Question Mark and the Mysterians, and The Monkees’ “I’m a Believer” — featured in the soundtrack of Dreamworks’ Shrek.

Recently, Smash Mouth collaborated with Darryl McDaniels (DMC) on an original song for his upcoming album. In 2017, they released a cover of Car Seat Headrest’s “Something Soon.” This year saw the release of Smash Mouth’s long awaited all-acoustic version of “Fush Yu Mang” in its entirety. The band is currently working on a brand-new album of original material set to release in 2019, and they continue to tour around the world entertaining fans and U.S. troops.

CAB offers one free ticket to each Lycoming student who has paid the student activity fee, a practice that remains unique among colleges and universities that host major campus concerts. This concert is funded by the Student Senate of Lycoming College.

Tickets are $20 and can now be purchased on campus at the Office of Student Engagement, in the Wertz Student Center; by phone on the College’s ticket hotline at 570-321-4056; at www.lycoming.edu/concert; or by visiting the Dairy Queen in South Williamsport.

Previous concerts at the College have included Mac Miller, Maroon 5, Ke$ha, Good Charlotte, Mike Posner, Jidenna, and AWOLNATION.
