Starting in January, Alison S. Gregory, associate professor and associate dean and director of library services at Lycoming College, will serve a three-year term on the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Academic Library Consortium, Inc. (PALCI).

The nine-member board of directors guides PALCI’s work with resource sharing, cooperative purchasing and collaborative collection development. PALCI membership consists of nearly 70 academic and research libraries, private and public, in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia and New York. Member institutions have holdings in excess of 144 million volumes and a combined enrollment of more than 500,000 students.

“PALCI is a powerful consortium that leverages the collective resources of libraries, giving all members access to more without spending more,” said Gregory. “I look forward to the opportunity to be part of decision-making that can lead to increased resources access for Lycoming’s students, faculty and staff.”

Along with serving on the PALCI board, Gregory is also a member of the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, and is active with the Pennsylvania Library Association. She has a Master of Science degree in library science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from Lycoming College.
