Lycoming College will offer two shows in the Detwiler Planetarium on May 5 at 6:30 p.m. and 7:15 p.m. as part of Williamsport First Friday. The events are open to the public. Free tickets are available that evening starting at 5 p.m. outside the planetarium. Seating is first come, first seated.

This month’s show, titled “Cycles of Life and Death on Earth,” will feature the possible origins of life on Earth through comet, astroid and meteor impacts. The presenter will also discuss how these same objects can end life on Earth.

The planetarium is located in the Lynn Science Center on the corner of Washington Blvd. and Mulberry St.
