Students, faculty and staff are gearing up for Lycoming College’s annual volleyball tournament on Feb. 18 in the Keiper Recreation Center. Registration is from 10 to 10:30 a.m. with games beginning directly after. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Veterans of Foreign Wars through the VFW Post 7863.

“Supporting our veterans is important because they and their families sacrifice so much every day to maintain our basic freedoms that we all get to enjoy,” said Nathaniel Ingerick, president of Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, which is organizing the annual event. “I appreciate the generous support of time and donations from so many with making this a great event.”

Anyone in the community can participate: individuals, families and teams. Last year, teams from the YWCA and Pennsylvania College of Technology participated with the College teams. For more information and to register online, visit www.lycomingphikappapsi.org/registration.

The event is being sponsored in part, by local businesses: AutoTrakk is a gold sponsor and Steinbacher, Goodall & Yurchak Law is a silver sponsor. Along with sponsoring the event, both organizations are hosting Lycoming College interns this semester.

Questions about participation, donations and corporate sponsorships can be directed to Matt Bernard, philanthropy chair, at (302) 750-0345 or volleyforvets@gmail.com.
