Lycoming College alumnus Robert Sclafani ’78, founding member and co-owner of Multi Image Group (MIG), will speak about his leadership, passion and personal values on Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. in the Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall, at the corner of Basin and Fourth Streets. The event is free and open to the public.

During his presentation, titled “Life is short: Live your dream and share your passion for being successful,” Sclafani will discuss how his values of hard work and good leadership helped his company grow from its humble beginnings in a house to more than 150 full-time employees and annual sales of over $42 million. MIG, based in Boca Raton, Fla., is an event production company specializing in live event, creative digital content and exhibitions. At the intersection of creativity and technology, the company generates innovative ideas that energize, engage and inspire audiences. In 2015, MIG was named to Sun Sentinel's South Florida's Top Places to Work, placing second out of 200 midsized companies.

“Ever since I can remember, I’ve been mesmerized by all things technological. I absolutely love hearing about the latest gadgets and gizmos,” said Sclafani, whose passion for technology prompted him to teach himself about computers and computer-generated graphics in 1979. “I take great joy in helping others reach their career goals and aspirations at work. My approachable leadership style creates a collaborative and productive work environment that enables me to do just that — help my employees succeed in doing great things.”

Sclafani is a founding member and co-owner of MIG, and has served as head of sales and marketing and most recently as co-president since 1994. Sclafani, who was raised in Walden, N.Y., earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lycoming College. He has served on the boards of the Art Institute of South Florida and the Digital Media Arts College.

His presentation is sponsored by the College’s Institute for Management Studies as part of its James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series. The series is named for James W. Harding, a 1938 graduate of Lycoming College and native of Montoursville, Pa. Harding was an executive with Kemper Insurance. As the result of a grant from the James S. Kemper foundation to endow the series, students have the opportunity to meet and network with some of America's top business executives from numerous internationally-recognized companies and firms.
