Lycoming College trustee and alumna Leigh T. Howe ’78, former executive vice president and chief operating officer of Windsor Healthcare Equities, will give a presentation on investing in health care companies on Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Mary L. Welch Honors Hall, at the corner of Basin and Fourth streets. The event is free and open to the public.
Her presentation, titled “Taking Care of our Future... Investing in Quality Healthcare,” will cover current health care issues and considerations for successful financial performance in the sector.
Howe is an investment and finance professional with more than 30 years of experience working with private equity and commercial banks to evaluate the credit risk and returns of real estate projects in the senior housing and healthcare markets. She holds an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University Maryland and B.A. in economics and business administration from Lycoming College.
Her presentation is sponsored by the College’s Institute for Management Studies as part of its James W. Harding Executive Speaker Series. The series is named for James W. Harding, a 1938 graduate of Lycoming College and native of Montoursville, Pa. Harding was an executive with Kemper Insurance. As the result of a grant from the James S. Kemper foundation to endow the series, students have the opportunity to meet and network with some of America's top business executives from numerous internationally-recognized companies and firms.
