The brothers of Lycoming College’s chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon will be hosting a family-friendly 5K run on April 16 at 11 a.m. to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. The run will begin at Brandon Park on North Market Street in downtown Williamsport.
The event will feature colored powder to be sported by the runners and walkers that creates a rainbow effect, symbolizing the diversity of people affected by the disorder. At the conclusion of the event, the remaining colored powder will be tossed in the air to celebrate the empowerment of all affected.
The cost to register will be $20 for students and $30 for faculty and staff. Pre-registration is available online. Registration at the event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the bandshell; the 5K will start roughly at 11 a.m.
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization that provides information about care and resources and supports research around the world. Read more about the association at www.alz.org.
The event is one of many hosted by Lycoming’s TKE fraternal organization to support the community and important national causes.
