Dr. Christopher Jackson, director of choral activities at Lycoming College, will perform with a group at Alabaster Coffee, 410 Pine Street in Williamsport, for First Friday on Oct. 3 from 6-7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
"It’s not going to be a typical ‘sit down, be quiet’ sort of concert," said Dr. Jackson. “We will talk between numbers, provide information on each of the pieces, and take questions.”
Dr. Jackson is holding this, and two other concerts, as a result of a Professional Development Grant he was awarded to attend the Tafelmusik Summer Baroque Institute in Toronto, ON. This institute was designed for conductors and singers of "Early Music" (Pre-1790) as an intensive two-week session where they studied, performed and observed performances for over ten hours each day.
