WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Matthew Parrish joined Lycoming College as assistant director of college relations on Sept. 1, according to Jerry Rashid, director of college relations. He comes to Lycoming from the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, where he has served as the arts and entertainment editor since 2009.
As assistant director of college relations, Parrish will be responsible for producing content for the web and various print publications, managing news releases, social media accounts and e-communications, maintaining portions of the college’s website and assisting with media relations and photography. He also will aid in producing Lycoming’s alumni magazine.
Parrish earned a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Lycoming in 2006 and a master’s degree in painting from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2008. He has audited several German classes at Lycoming and is a member of its German Club. Parrish has maintained an art studio with his wife, Elizabeth Parrish, also graduate of Lycoming, at the Pajama Factory. He also has volunteered with the First Friday Arts Council in downtown Williamsport.
