WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - A variety of entertaining and educational activities are planned for Lycoming College's annual Family Weekend, scheduled for Sept. 30-Oct 2.
Registration will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Burchfield Lounge, Wertz Student Center.
The annual Family Weekend Concert, which includes the musical talents of the Lycoming College Choir and Concert Band, will be held Friday at 7 p.m. in Clarke Chapel.
The Lycoming College Theatre Department will present "Mauritius" on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Mary L. Welch Theatre.
On Saturday morning, Regina Collins, assistant dean for freshmen, will present "Parenting the College Freshman, Part II" in the Jane Schultz Room, Wertz Student Center. Parents will also have the opportunity to meet with Lycoming professors during a Faculty Open House in Pennington Lounge.
Gamma Delta Sigma sorority will host the 21st annual Brandy Lee Sudol Auction on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the East Hall Coffeehouse. The benefit is held in memory of Sudol, a Lycoming student and sorority member who passed away from Hodgkin's disease in February 1990. All proceeds raised by the auction will be divided between a memorial scholarship and the Salvation Army.
On Saturday, the Warrior football team will face Albright at David Person Field beginning at 1:30 p.m.
A Hiawatha Riverboat Tour will be offered late Saturday morning, in addition to a picnic lunch and games on the College's Quad from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Following the Family Weekend Dinner Saturday evening, family-friendly entertainment will be presented by comedian Michael Dean Ester in the Clarke Chapel.
On Sunday, Catholic mass will be held at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Church, and a Protestant Ecumenical Service, with music by the Lycoming College Choir, will be held in the College's Clarke Chapel at 10:30 a.m.
The Streeter Campus Store will be open during the weekend. Hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday, and 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sunday.
