WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Lycoming College has been named by Forbes.com as one of "America's Best Colleges" for 2010. Lycoming is among a select group of 610 schools in the rankings.
According to Forbes.com, "Our list of more than 600 undergraduate institutions is based on the quality of the education they provide, the experiences of the students and how much they achieve."
Forbes reviews just nine percent of the 6,600 accredited postsecondary institutions in the U.S. The survey results were compiled by Forbes and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. The CCAP used data from a variety of sources, including student evaluations, number of prominent alumni, average amount of student debt after graduation, percentage of students graduating in four years and the number of students or faculty who have won nationally competitive awards.
