Student Spotlight: Bill Reed

1. What’s your year, major and hometown?
2009; Creative Writing; Lehighton, PA.

2. To what campus organizations or clubs are you a member?
I am a member of Sigma Tau Delta (The National English Honors Society) and one of the editors on the Tributary, our campus literary magazine. And it isn’t so much an “organization,” but I also tutor in the Writing Center.

3. What was the last book you read?
John Gardner’s On Becoming a Novelist has provided many useful words of wisdom.

4. What do you like to do for fun?
Regular activities including bowling, writing stories and articles, and taking fencing lessons on-campus.

5. What have you learned while working at the library?
The library has provided a great working environment that’s helped me to get over social shyness and surrounded me with the best of academia. Also, and perhaps most important of all—proper copy machine maintenance! Haha.

I’m looking into getting my master’s degree in library science, actually, so the experiences here are extremely useful and I’m quite thankful for that.
